  • My Story

My name is Rosie Hunter,

On the Summer Solstice of June 2020 I awoke early and welcomed the incredible sunrise by swimming 1 mile around an open water lake near my home. I decided that day to embark on my challenge for 2020 to Swim and Run one mile every day, Cycle 120 miles a week until August 31st.

The 1000 mile challenge.

This is a tough challenge both physically and mentally, especially to continue to motivate myself every morning to get up & swim in Open Water in all weathers!!! My supporters so far are 2 Junior Swans, a family of ducks, many fish including Pike and Carp. Not forgetting my incredible Reservoir Dog - Simba who accompanies me every morning around the entire perimeter, tracking me and ensuring I am safe. He is a trusted follower on the long stretch ahead......

The impact of Covid-19 has affected thousands of theatre workers and freelancers across the UK. They along with many more from under represented groups have been forgotten and despite the latest Gov intiative to support theatres, music venues, art galleries and other cultural institutions, many individuals will still be disproportionately affected by the crisis.

These professionals need urgent emergency support. I along with millions of other like minded's Love the theatre, music and arts. I cannot imagine how life would be if we do not have the wonderful, eclectic mix of music and theatre productions throughout Britain.

My inspiration to raise funds and help this industry comes from a lifetime of visiting theatres, shows, pantomimes, concerts and live performances, large and small. I will also remember the special annual trips to the Pantomime after Christmas each year, my first memories of a lifetime of enjoying the best musical theatre and shows in the world.

These individuals need help now not in 6 months time when it maybe too late.

I appreciate asking to donate to charities and causes at present is a big ask at this time, so many Charities have been affected during Lockdown. Please donate anything you can to help professionals from all over the UK in this industry; your support and any donations will help so many struggling at this time.

I will complete this challenge and will keep you updated on my progress over the next 8 weeks.

Thank you for reading any donations to the Theatre Arts Fund  - TAF will make a difference and help so many. I am keeping a daily diary and will Post updates with 3 words of how I feel that day, plus a line/title from an appropriate song.

The Show Must Go On!!!!

Stay Safe and Well X

Love & Best Wishes

Rosie
